Ceci n'est pas une très bonne nouvelle pour ceux ayant acquis des téléphones de standard type SNOM 360, mais ce modèle de ne fera pas partie des nouveaux firmwares 8.8.1.11 dit "Apollo" (UC Edition firmware.

Ce qui l'écarte définitivement de faire partie des téléphones qualifiées pour Lync 2010/2013.

C'est un élément important lors d'une phase de propositon, le support snom étant très peu réactif. Pour l'avoir déjà déployé, ce type de téléphone présente des problèmes d'intégration, il faut beaucoup de patience...

Cela fait maintenant quelques semaines (j'ai un peu de retard sur mon blog), le RMX 1500 de Polycom fait enfin partie du programme UCOIP pour Lync, même si beaucoup d'entre nous avait déjà pas mal d'intégration de ce genre que ce soit avec Lync ou OCS.

Cette qualification est arrivé avec le nouveau firmware 7.7 qui apporte les nouveautés suivantes:

• Polycom, Microsoft and Cisco bridge interoperability – this is the ability to host multi-party video conferences on the RMX with video endpoints from multiple vendors. In the case of Cisco, signalling is handled via the integration of Cisco Unified Call Manager (CUCM) and Polycom’s Distributed Media Application (DMA).
• Microsoft RTV forward error correction (FEC) support – with this feature the RMX is able to support Lync error correction in scenarios where there is connection instability.
• ICE over TCP – When ICE over UDP is blocked by a Firewall, the ICE connection automatically uses TCP.
• Media over TCP – as with above, when media is unable to utilise UDP due to Firewall policies etc., the RMX will automatically switch to TCP.
• Additional Virtual Meeting Room (VMR) presence mode – prior to this release VMRs enabled for presence would only display as available, the 7.7 update introduces the busy state when busy or in use.
• Error recovery – RMX 7.7 can automatically recover from short duration network errors (up to 5 seconds), enabling video or audio conference calls in Microsoft Lync to continue without disconnecting.
• Lync AVMCU to RMX Cascading – Last but not least (and a personal favourite) the ability to connect a Lync video conference call to the RMX by transparently joining the two meetings, hosted on their respective MCUs, via end-user drag/drop within the Lync client

Depuis quelques semaines déjà, Polycom a rendu disponible le firmware 1.1 pour son système de salle CX7000 spécialisé dans infrastructures Lync Serveur.

Cette mise à jour apporte les nouveautés suivantes:

• Support for Office 365 (both Shared and Dedicated) – more on this later!
• Standalone-mode – sign into Lync without the need to add the system to the domain (previously required)
• Ability to daisy-chain either Polycom HDX Microphone Array or Ceiling Microphones (in both cases up to two can be linked together)
• Hot-desking capability (User Sign In) – idle session timeout can be set here so the CX7000 dedicated account will switch back for those using the room scheduling
• Utilise the CX5000 (RoundTable) for video input—including support for panoramic video—and as microphone and speaker
• Improved audio performance via Polycom Audio Echo Cancellation (AEC) enhancements
• Lync client is updated from CU4 to CU5 – more on this here
• Support for 11 user interface languages (English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Russian, Japanese, Korean, Simplified Chinese and Traditional Chinese
• Ability for users to select a different input language for IM and contact search, reverts to system language after each conversation ends.
• Ability to override the Exchange Web Services autodiscover address and/or provide alternate e-mail/Exchange credentials
• Bandwidth reduction for VGA-based content
  sharing – reduction is from 6MB to as low as 1MB, in situations where the content is static

L'update en 1.1 nécessite impérativement d'être en firmware 1.0.2:

Ne pas oublier de mettre à jour les bases de données aussi

Il y a certain cas ou le scénario "classique" où la console attendant transfère un appel a un utilisateur ne pouvant décrocher et que l'appel revient à la réception n'est pas forcément l'idéal pour le client.

L'erreur suivant peut survenir: Transfert not completed : "Nom de l'utilisateur"

Si le client souhaite que l'appel transférer termine sa course dans la messagerie vocale en cas d'occupation ou non réponse, il suffit simplement d'effectuer ces opérations sur la console Attendant:

Dans option, choisir "action et alerte" , décocher la case "return a transferred call to me if the recipient doesn’t respond"

Redémarrer le client et le tour est joué.

Une information important et prévisible est le non support pour l'instant du nouveau SQL Server 2012 pour les rôles Lync suivants:

After the IIMF rules are applied, the environment administrators can block all file transfers through the Edge Server pool and allow file transfers between registered users.

Note In this command, EdgePoolIdentity is a placeholder for the identity of the Edge Server pool that is returned by running Get-CsService –EdgeServer command. You can also use the FQDN of the Edge Server pool instead of the identity.

Le site de Damien Caro nous apprend une information intéressante concernant l'utilisation de SQL Serveur 2012 dans le cadre d'un déploiement Lync Serveur 2010.

Cela ne sera pour l'instant pas possible, cette nouvelle version ne supportant pas DMO.

There are some excellent reasons for willing to use SQL 2012 with Microsoft Lync like the support of the new availability model (Always On). However, Lync 2010 is using a feature called DMO (Distributed Management Objects) that was introduced in SQL 7.0 (a long time ago !).

Dans le cadre d'un couplage des équipements de salles existants répartis sur plusieurs sites à l'environnement Lync serveur d'un client, j'ai été amené à m'intéresser à la solution de Radvision: Scopia Vidéo Gateway.

Les besoins exprimés sont les suivants:

- support du HD

- pouvoir faire des vidéo-conférences HD multipostes avec présence permanente à l’écran

- Les systèmes de salles existants (H.323 Sony et Aethra) doivent pouvoir rejoindre le pont et être joignable depuis Lync

La solution de Radvision m'a paru la plus adaptée

The list of key features includes:

• Presence reflection: All H.323 devices appear on the Lync contact list. Their presence is updated dynamically according to their real-time status. Presence is updated for H.323 room systems, RADVISION MCU virtual rooms and the video auto-attendant.

• HD video transcoding: SCOPIA Video Gateway transcodes Microsoft's RTVideo codec to H.264 video codec and vice versa, from RTVideo to H.264. This enables end-to-end HD video quality for every call, assuming HD is supported by both sides.

• Point-to-point calls: A Microsoft Lync client can easily initiate a point-to-point call with any of the H.323 endpoints or room systems that are part of the contact list. Calling an H.323 endpoint is just like when calling any other Lync client. Users can also call from an H.323 endpoint to a Lync client.

• Multipoint calls: Several users can participate in the same meeting. This includes Lync clients and H.323 room systems and endpoints. Multipoint calls may be hosted on the RADVISION MCU or the Lync internal A/V MCU. Using the RADVISION MCU upgrades the user experience by providing continuous presence, Telepresence interoperability and full moderation capabilities. Joining a call on the RADVISION MCU is done by directly accessing one of the virtual rooms or using the video auto-attendant. Note that virtual rooms and auto-attendant are features of the RADVISION MCU.

-          Iview management contenant SCOPIA Gatekeeper qui sert pour le management et l’enregistrement des systèmes de salles en H.323 qui peut être virtualisé.

Snom annonce que son téléphone 370 UC vient de passer avec succès les tests de validation Microsoft et devrait donc rejoindre le cercle des produits interopérables officiellement avec Microsoft Lync.
