Consider the following scenario:
In this scenario, when you click the "Join Lync Meeting" or "Join Skype Meeting" link, you expect the locally installed Lync or Skype for Business client to start. Instead, the default web browser starts and you are directed to the Lync Web App or Skype for Business Web App webpage. Then, you are prompted to install a plugin or you are joined to the meeting by using the web experience.
Cause:
This problem occurs because, by default, the updated version of Google Chrome deprecates and disables support for the Netscape Plugin API (NPAPI). NPAPI is currently used as part of the client detection process for the Lync or Skype for Business client when you join a meeting by clicking a link. When NPAPI is disabled, the webpage cannot determine whether you have the client installed.
Résolution:
To resolve this problem, use one of the following methods.
Set Internet Explorer or another supported browser as the user's default browser.

If you’re having issues signing in to Skype for Business (Lync) Windows Store app, check for the following:
You have a Skype for Business (Lync) account from Office 365 or your organization. If you’re already using Skype for Business (Lync) on your desktop or on a mobile device, then you have a Skype for Business (Lync) account. If you don’t already have a Skype for Business (Lync) account, you can’t use Skype for Business (Lync) Windows Store app. Please contact the technical support team in your organization.
Your PC or device has an Internet connection. Try opening a browser and going to a web page. If the page opens successfully, your device is connected to the Internet.
The time and date on your device is set accurately. This is very important for devices that aren’t joined to a domain, for example, Microsoft Surface or other devices running Windows RT. Set your clock to an accurate time for your location. This will usually solve any time-related problems. Your Skype for Business (Lync) server will automatically adjust for time zone differences and Daylight Savings Time.
Your sign-in address and user name are entered correctly.
A sign-in issue can occur for Office 365 users who are not running the latest version of Skype for Business (Lync) Windows Store App. To fix the issue, users should install the latest version of the Skype for Business (Lync) Windows Store App, which also requires Windows 8.1.
If all the above are true and you still can’t sign in, keep in mind that server requirements are slightly different for each Skype for Business (Lync) client. It’s possible that your Skype for Business (Lync) server doesn’t meet the requirements to support Skype for Business (Lync) Windows Store app. So, maybe you can sign in to Lync 2013 for the desktop or Lync 2013 for a mobile client, but you can’t sign in to Skype for Business (Lync) Windows Store app.
Contact your technical support team for more information. Give them a detailed description of what led to the error, and the exact text of the error message, if any, that was displayed.

If your PC loses its connection to the Exchange server, information about your meetings won’t get sent to Skype for Business (Lync). You’ll see the following error message at the bottom of the screen when this happens:
Skype for Business (Lync) can’t connect to Exchange. You might not have the latest history, voice mail, contacts, and Skype for Business (Lync) Meetings.
The information gets sent to Skype for Business (Lync) when your PC re-connects to the Exchange server. In the meanwhile, join your meetings by going to your calendar and selecting the Join Skype for Business (Lync) Meeting link in your meeting invite.

Skype for Business (Lync) automatically detects your audio and video devices, such as a headset, mic, speakers, and cameras. Before joining a meeting or making a call, check your devices to make sure you’re all set.
Because there isn’t an option in Skype for Business (Lync) Windows Store app to verify that your audio and video devices are working correctly, we recommend that you make a test audio or video call to check them.
If you also have Lync 2013 for the desktop installed on the same PC, you can set up your audio and video devices from the Audio Device options menu in that app and check call quality from there. For more information, see Set up and test Lync audio.

Yes. When you get a phone call or an IM invitation when your PC screen is off, you hear an alert and, when you turn the screen back on, missed conversations are listed on the Skype for Business (Lync) tile on the Windows Start screen. Tap the tile to launch the app and respond.
Yes. Open the Settings charm by swiping in from the right of the screen and tapping Settings. (If you’re using a mouse, point to the upper-right corner of the screen, move the mouse pointer down, and click Settings.) Select Options and in the Skype for Business (Lync) Options panel, scroll down to Notifications of new IMs in active conversations. Move the slider to the left to turn off the option.
Note Even if you turn off the notifications option during a meeting, any new IM received from an active conversation after more than 10 minutes of inactivity will display as an invitation to a new conversation. To work around this situation, set your Skype for Business (Lync) presence to Do Not Disturb. Then, you will see invitations only if they are from contacts in your workgroup.
Yes. Select the search button from the Skype for Business (Lync) home screen and type the contact’s name in the search text box. Select the contact’s picture from the search results and then select the button with the three dots. Select either Add to Favorites or Add to Group.

No, they won’t. When you send an ink message from Skype for Business (Lync) Windows Store app to a contact running Lync 2010 for a mobile client, only empty IM bubbles will display on their mobile device. Simultaneously, you will receive a notification that your contact can’t receive IMs.

Depuis le firmware 4.1, une nouvelle fonctionnalité est possible avec les passerelles Sonus SBC 1/2k: Import Partial Configuration
Le SBC 1000/2000 vous permet d'importer des configurations partielles d'un autre SBC 1000/2000. Cette fonction permet vous permet de configurer rapidement une ou plusieurs unités sans la nécessité d'un SME pour l'auto-approvisionnement.
Le processus est similaire au processus de restauration en utilisant un fichier de configuration de sauvegarde précédemment exporté d'un autre nœud. La différence est que lors d'une importation de configuration partielle, tous les éléments de configuration dans le fichier de sauvegarde sont appliquées sur le noeud cible.
Prendre en considération les limitations suivantes:

BToE with Audio Playback
Audio Playback Mode is a feature available on the Lync server that enables users to use their VVX phone to play audio from Lync calls and media on their computer. Users can answer Lync audio or video calls in the Lync client, and the audio plays on the phone. Users can also play audio from media, such as music or web videos, on the phone.
Audio Playback is automatically enabled when the phone’s base profile is set to Lync.
Lync Voice Conference Calls with Centralized Conference Control Protocol (CCCP) Support
Users can initiate Lync conference calls, manage conference participants, view a detailed list of participants in the roster, enable announcements, lock a conference, and manage up to 24 conference calls. This feature also enables users to add up to 200 Lync contacts to a conference call, start a conference with a group, and invite participants to the conference.
This feature is enabled automatically when the phone’s base profile is set to Lync.
Lync Exchange Web Service
The Exchange Web Service (EWS) feature is a Lync Server feature that enables setup of visual voicemail, call log synchronization, Outlook® contact search, and Lync Address Book Service (ABS) adaptive search. Each of these features is enabled by default on phones registered with Lync Server. This feature also enables the administrator to retrieve an exchange server URL address automatically or manually.
The visual voicemail aspect of the EWS feature enables users to view individual voicemail messages, play individual messages, and dial contacts from the Voicemail screen. The call log synchronization aspect of the feature automatically syncs Lync calls on users’ phones, Lync clients, and Outlook, and enables users to view call logs on all three platforms. The Outlook contact search enables users to search for Outlook contacts on their phone while Lync ABS enables users to search for Lync contacts on their phone.
This feature is enabled automatically when the phone’s base profile is set to Lync.
Safe Transfer for Lync Boss-Admin
Safe Transfer is an added functionality for the Lync Boss-Admin feature that enables delegates to transfer a delegation call to the boss’s line. If the transferred call is not answered on the boss’s phone, the delegate is notified that the call wasn’t answered and the call remains on the delegate’s phone instead ofbeing sent to voicemail. The safe transfer feature is available for delegates only. The soft key Safe XTran was added for this feature.
This feature is enabled automatically when the phone’s base profile is set to Lync.
Lync Boss-Admin is supported on Lync Server 2010 and Lync Server 2013; however, a separate deployment procedure is necessary for setting up the feature for Lync Server 2010. See the section “Configure Lync Boss-Admin for Lync Server 2010” in the Deployment Guide for Polycom UC Software with Microsoft Lync.
Music on Hold
Music on Hold is a Lync Server feature that enables music to play when users place contacts on hold. However, there is a limitation for this feature where only the first call placed on hold hears the hold music; any additional held calls do not hear music.
Administrators can store music files in .wav format on the provisioning server and specify which files the phone plays when an active call is placed on hold.
VVX phones support the following .wav file formats:
● mono G.711 (8 bits/sample, 8-khz sample rate)
● mono L16/16000 (16 bits/sample, 16-kHz sample rate)
● mono L16/48000 (16 bits/sample, 48-kHz sample rate)
Administrators can enable the feature using configuration files. The parameters feature.moh.enabled and feature.moh.filename are new parameters for this feature.
