Microsoft vient de publier la Preview de la version 4.0 de Windows Management Framework (WMF). Celui-ci contient les outils présents dans Windows 8.1 et Windows Server 2012 R2 :
- Windows PowerShell 4.0,
- Windows PowerShell ISE,
- Windows PowerShell Web Services,
- Windows Management Infrastructure (WMI),
- Windows Remote Management (WinRM),
- Server Manager WMI provider,
- Windows PowerShell Desired State Configuration (DSC)
La mise à jour s’applique à Windows 7 Service Pack 1, Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1, Windows Server 2012. Notez que la mise à jour a des effets de bord sur les produits suivants :
- System Center 2012 Configuration Manager (sans SP1)
- System Center Virtual Machine Manager 2008 R2 (et SP1)
- Microsoft Exchange Server 2013, Microsoft Exchange Server 2010, et Microsoft Exchange Server 2007
- Microsoft SharePoint Server 2013 et Microsoft SharePoint Server 2010
- Windows Small Business Server 2011 et Windows Small Business Server 2008
