To help customers meet rapidly changing communication needs, Microsoft 365 live events will temporarily raise default limits until July 1, 2020, for live events hosted in Teams. The following increases are being rolled out in late April 2020:

• Attendee limit: events can support up to 20,000 attendees
• Concurrent events: 50 events can be hosted simultaneously across a tenant
• Event duration: event length has been increased to 16 hours per broadcast

Un nouveau livre sur le thème des technologies Microsoft Lync Serveur 2013 est disponible et en français de surcroît.

Microsoft vient de publier un nouveau "white paper" Managing Large and Structured Meetings with Lync 2013.

Intéressant, le nouveau paramètre AllowLargeMeetings est abordé:

New-CSConferencingPolicy cmdlet, with the new parameter –AllowLargeMeetings $true.

Description:

The -AllowLargeMeetings $true setting causes the following:

• Hides the Attendee roster. For more information, see the Roster Management section of this document.
• Disables errors in the IM window.
• Disables multi-party video.
• Disables ability to promote an Attendee to Presenter. You must plan ahead and declare all Presenters before the meeting.
• Disables ability to unmute individual Attendees.

Intéressant, il est non seulement possible de classifier le trafic Microsoft Lync, mais aussi, de différencier et donc prioriser les différents flux comme l'audio, la vidéo, etc etc.

La technologie AVC (Application Visibility Control) permet donc une visibilité sur le trafic classifié et des options de controle utilisant les actions "Drop" ou  "Mark" (DSCP):

• Action DROP (Traffic for that application will be dropped)
• Action MARK (Particular applications can be marked with different QOS profiles available on WLC OR administrator can custom define DSCP value for that application)

The QoS Behavior with AVC Between the Access Point, the WLC, and the infrastructure:

Upstream
1. A packet is transmitted with or without inner DSCP from a wireless side (wireless client).
2. An access point will forward that packet on the Ethernet inside a Control and Provisioning of Wireless Access Points protocol (CAPWAP) packet with the header having the destination address of the WLC.
3. The WLC will remove the CAPWAP header.
4. The AVC module on the WLC will overwrite the original DSCP value of the source packet to the configured value in the AVC profile. The WLC will then forward the source packet with its remarked DSCP value to the destination address.

Downstream
1. A packet comes from a switch, with or without an inner-DSCP wired-side value.
2. AVC module logic will overwrite the inner-DSCP value of the downstream source packet.
3. A controller will compare the WLAN QoS configuration (as per 802.1p value that is actually 802.11e) with the inner-DSCP value that NBAR had overwritten. The WLC will choose the lesser value and put it into CAPWAP header for DSCP.
4. The WLC will send out the packet to the access point with a QoS user priority on the outer CAPWAP header. That value is no higher than the QoS priority configured on the WLAN.
5. The access point strips the CAPWAP header and sends the packet on air with a WMM UP value representative of the DSCP setting, or the WLAN configuration if the WLAN setting is lower.

Note: The WLAN QoS configuration sets the highest priority for which a packet in the WLAN may be forwarded. For example, a WLAN with a QoS priority of ‘gold’ will not forward audio packets at a voice priority. Those audio packets will be sent at a video packet priority.

Description

RUCT is a free Windows utility for remotely diagnosing Lync Server and OCS issues. Specifically it helps to diagnose DNS configuration issues, certificate issues, and other Lync or Communicator client problems. It is not an official Microsoft tool – it is my own tool that I developed to help people diagnose and resolve Lync and OCS issues.

Feature Summary

The tool offers 4 primary features:

1.       Easily Query Important DNS Records used by Microsoft Lync Server and OCS.   DNS queries for the following Lync and OCS records are issued:

·         All Lync and Communicator internal and external records used for automatic sign-in.

·         Lync sign-in records used for Lync Online (in Office 365).

·         Lync simple URL records used for Dial-In, Meetings, and Administration.

·         Home registrar location records used by Lync devices.

2.       Test Network Availability.

·         Important client-side environment settings such as O/S version, 32-bit or 64-bit, current domain credentials, and Lync/Communicator sign-on settings are automatically retrieved and consolidated in one place.

·         Recent Lync and Communicator specific event log errors and warnings can be retrieved with one-click.

Comment fonctionne le click to call avec Lync?

A l'installation du client, deux modules viennent s'intégrer dans internet explorer:

Lync Browser Helper et le module complémentaire.

Ce module complémentaire peut se désactiver dans le navigateur (outils -> module complémentaire Lync):

Des petits icônes lync viennent se greffer dans votre page internet pour vous permettre d'effectuer un appel:

Cette fonctionnalité n'est opérationnel qu'avec Internet Explorer.

Point aussi très important, surtout lorsque l'utilisateur vous dit que cela ne marche pas, il faut savoir que le module détecte seulement les numéros de téléphones US ou débutant avec un +.

Resolution   Phone-number detection in Internet Explorer is not enabled when the phone number is not a United States number and does not start with a "+". It is also unavailable in 64-bit versions of Internet Explorer.

There currently is no workaround for this issue.

Le message  "Information about the meeting isn’t available right now. Please try again later." survient lors de l'installation du web scheduler de Microsoft Lync Server 2010.

La création de meeting est possible mais accèder aux informations ne l'est pas, donc l'outil se relève guère utile.

Le problème est du a un format strict des dates.

Pour le résoudre, il faut suivre la procédure suivante:

Depuis la publication de cette article, le nombre de template disponible est de plus en plus important.

Avec la fin de Microsoft TMG 2010 et le non support par UAG des fonctions de mobilités, il est nécessaire de trouver des solutions pour assurer la publication des services web externes de Lync ainsi que les URL nécessaires au bon fonctionnement.

J'ai récemment travaillé sur des projets utilisant des technologies comme fortinet, Citrix NetScaler ou Astaro déjà existante chez le client pour assurer ces fonctions, dans le cadre d'un de mes derniers projets, le choix d'utiliser Kemp avec une VLM-100 fut choisi.

Comment configurer Kemp pour assurer ces fonctions?

C'est très simple, un HLB est de base un reverse proxy, il n'est pas nécessaire d'utiliser le nouveau module ESP avec Lync.

Dans cette configuration, nous utilisons une architecture de type "two-armed":

Dans notre cas, cela donne ce type de configuration, les adresses ip et les noms de domaines sont modifiées pour ne pas divulguer des informations confidentielles:

Configuration:

- Vérifier que le paramètre "Global SNAT" est activé:

- L'architecture ne comporte qu'un seul serveur Front-End, mais si vous en avez plusieurs, il faut activer le paramètre "Drop Connections on RS failure" et augmenter la valeur du champ "L7 Connection Timeout":

- Il faut maintenant configurer les services virtuels pour la publication services web https Lync et Office Web Apps 2013

Régle pour Lync Serveur 2013:

Dans virtual service - faire Add New

Préciser l'adresse IP: 192.168.1.10 et le port d'écoute: 443

Déclarer le ou les serveurs Lync Front-End avec comme port d'écoute 4443

Importer le certificat public, dans notre cas, on utilise le certificat wilcard. L'importation s'effectue avec un fichier au format PFX.

Vous pouvez ensuite affecter le certificat avec le champ "VS to Add" à cette nouvelle règle. Ne pas oublier de cocher la case "reencrypt" dans la règle.

Il faut ensuite reproduire le même type de configuration pour Office Web Apps 2013:

Configuring a Virtual Service for External HTTPS based services for the Front-End servers.

1. Connect and log in to your LoadMaster.

2. Create a Virtual Service. Click Virtual Services and then click Add New.

3. Enter the Virtual Address of the Lync Server External Base Webservices URL using the format ###.###.###.### (10.84.10.33).

4. Enter 4443 as the Port.

5. Select tcp as the Protocol.

6. Click Add this Virtual Service.

7. Select the Force L7 check box.

8. Unselect the L7 Transparency check box.

9. Select HTTPS Protocol in Real Server Check Parameters, type 4443 in Checked Port. Click Set Checked Port. Enter /abs/handler in URL and click Set URL.

10. Enter a Service Nickname. This is for display purposes only. For example, “FE WEB EXT”. Click Set Nickname.

11. For Persistence Options, select Super HTTP as the Mode. Use the Timeout drop down list to select 20 minutes and the Netmask drop down list to select/32.

12. Select Least Connection as the Scheduling Method.

13. For Idle Timeout enter 1800 (30 minutes). Click Set Idle Timeout.

14. Click Enable for SSL Acceleration.

15. Select the Reencrypt option and Click OK to close the certificate warning about the selfsigned certificate popup. Reencryption is required. SSL Offloading is not supported for Lync Web Services.

16. Click Add New to import the exported certificate with private key (can be the same certificate as installed on the Front-End Server)

17. Click Browse for the IIS Certificate and select the exported certificate in .PFX format that includes the private key. Enter the Pass Phrase which is the password you configured in the .PFX file when exporting the certificate.

18. Add Real Servers. Click Add New…

19. For each Front-End server, input its IP address (10.84.10.14 & 10.84.10.13) as the Real Server Address on Port 4443. Click Add This Real Server.

20. Click OK in response to the confirmation that the Real Server was added.

21. You have now completed your configuration of LoadMaster for Lync 2010 Internal Web Services. If you wish to view, modify, or delete any Real Servers that have been added, click View/Modify Services.
